In Niepoort's warehouse in the port town of Vila Nova de Gaia on the Douro River, the wine is matured in Piper oak barrels, which hold the traditional port wine measure, 500 liters. Niepoort Tawny 20 Years Old is composed of wines that have an average age of 20 years. Approximately 8,000 bottles are produced per year.
Niepoort Tawny 20 Years Old has a beautiful orange-gold tone with the glow of the sunset, the taste is full-bodied, pleasantly spicy with touches of honey, almond and lots of fruit, the final bouquet is spicy from honey to pepper.
Port wine is good with desserts, cheese and as an aperitif.
About the Port Wine Cellar
The Port Wine Cellar is a combined port wine bar where you can buy and enjoy a glass of port wine. We are also a retail store and webshop selling port wine.
The Port Wine Cellar has fixed opening hours on Fridays and Saturdays from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM. The cellar has room for 26 seated guests (+ 4 outdoor seating). Here, in addition to enjoying a glass of port wine, you can also enjoy a port wine drink or order a tapas platter.
