JH Andresen 10 years White Port
A specialty and defining for the category, made from the “white” Douro grapes Malvasia Fina, Côdega, Rabigato and Arinto.
JH Andresen was the first house to launch 10 Years Old White and is both a pioneer and a reference brand for the quality level in the category of aged white port wines.
Here, older (up to 17 years) and younger barrel-aged wines are blended with each other and the average age in the blend is approximately 10 years, which is why the amber-golden color is the result of the natural, oxidative aging in old barrels in the 550-600 liter class.
The nose is complex with hints of sweet dried fruit, especially apricot and a hint of sultana raisins, while the taste is spicy and balances ripeness with delicate freshness, honey, bitter orange peel, quince and balanced acidity that keeps the sweetness in check. Enjoy lightly chilled on its own or with crème brûlée, dried fruit or as an aperitif
