Bula's Late Bottled Vintage 2017
2016 is the first in a great trilogy of excellent years in the Douro. Vintages from this year are now considered some of the best buys and this Late Bottled Vintage follows suit. The wine is foot-pressed and stored in steel barrels until bottling. It is unfiltered and can develop for many years in the bottle.
Very dark red color with facets bordering on black. A very intense and complex aroma with notes of black berries and chocolate. In the mouth it is very dense, full-bodied and with a very present acidity. The wine has a long and persistent aftertaste.
The bottle should be stored lying down in the dark at a constant temperature between 14 and 16 degrees. It is advisable to decant the wine before serving to bring out the tannins. Goes well with strong cheese.
