Colheita Port is a selected port wine from a single unique vintage, developed for a minimum of 7 years in cask and ready to drink when it comes to the market. This type can withstand being left open for a long time without losing flavor. The port wine is composed of a wide range of grapes, pressed and fermented in lagares. The aging has taken place in small (550 – 600 liters) oak barrels until bottling in Niepoort's cellar.
Chestnut-colored in the glass with a reddish-brown rim. The incredibly intense and full-bodied aroma is characterized by dried fruit, candied fruit and caramel. In the mouth, the port wine is soft yet fresh with a unique balance between acidity and sweetness. The port wine ends with a long, elegant and velvety aftertaste.
An excellent companion to desserts with fruit, chocolate and nuts or chilled as an aperitif.
About the Port Wine Cellar
The Port Wine Cellar is a combined port wine bar where you can buy and enjoy a glass of port wine. We are also a retail store and webshop selling port wine.
The Port Wine Cellar has fixed opening hours on Fridays and Saturdays from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM. The cellar has room for 26 seated guests (+ 4 outdoor seating). Here, in addition to enjoying a glass of port wine, you can also enjoy a port wine drink or order a tapas platter.
