Ruelas Reserva 2019 - is a wonderful Portuguese blend from Quinta do Gradil , a historic estate with roots deeply rooted in Portuguese wine history and in the mid-18th century owned by the Marqués de Pombal, Portugal's sole statesman responsible for the reconstruction of Lisbon after the earthquake in 1755 and, not least, the demarcation of the Douro and initiator of the port wine adventure.
Ruelas is a red wine, made as a blend of grapes Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz and Syrah , grown around Cadaval, approximately midway between the Atlantic Ocean and Montejunto, where the Atlantic climate keeps temperatures in check during the hottest summer months and extends the growing season with better phenolic ripening of the grapes.
A relatively dark and powerful red wine with lots of black berries and stone fruit in the aroma and with dark warm pepper spice, well structured and with soft ripe tannins and a touch of malt in the finish. A great representative of the region's best mid-range wines, offering plenty of value for the buck!
About the Port Wine Cellar
The Port Wine Cellar is a combined port wine bar where you can buy and enjoy a glass of port wine. We are also a retail store and webshop selling port wine.
The Port Wine Cellar has fixed opening hours on Fridays and Saturdays from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM. The cellar has room for 26 seated guests (+ 4 outdoor seating). Here, in addition to enjoying a glass of port wine, you can also enjoy a port wine drink or order a tapas platter.
