Sandeman is one of the classics in the world of port wine, and here you can taste their Vau Vintage in the drinking-ready vintage, 1999!
This 1999 wine is deep red with intense, fresh red fruit aromas. In the mouth it has rich plum notes with a touch of strawberry, supported by firm tannins. There is a strong structure that has allowed it to age excellently over the years.
Fermentation takes place in steel tanks at a controlled temperature, which is stopped by the addition of grape spirit. The wine matures for 2 years in large used oak barrels, and is then bottled in the 2nd year after harvest.
Serving temperature approximately 15 degrees.
About the Port Wine Cellar
The Port Wine Cellar is a combined port wine bar where you can buy and enjoy a glass of port wine. We are also a retail store and webshop selling port wine.
The Port Wine Cellar has fixed opening hours on Fridays and Saturdays from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM. The cellar has room for 26 seated guests (+ 4 outdoor seating). Here, in addition to enjoying a glass of port wine, you can also enjoy a port wine drink or order a tapas platter.
