Not since the 1945 vintage has Taylor's harvested so early as was the case here in the warm 2017 vintage. (Incidentally, 1945 is considered by many to be the greatest vintage of the century).
The wine is almost black-red in the glass with highly aromatic and ultra-nuanced aromas of blackcurrant, blueberry, violet, licorice and well-cured meat, while in the mouth it shows dense and concentrated, sweet fruit that rolls elegantly over the tongue in a velvety way.
The acidity bounces vibrantly, the tannin structure shows focus and backbone, while the aftertaste lingers for ages.
This is a brilliant version of an almost infinitely vibrant Vintage Port!
About the Port Wine Cellar
The Port Wine Cellar is a combined port wine bar where you can buy and enjoy a glass of port wine. We are also a retail store and webshop selling port wine.
The Port Wine Cellar has fixed opening hours on Fridays and Saturdays from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM. The cellar has room for 26 seated guests (+ 4 outdoor seating). Here, in addition to enjoying a glass of port wine, you can also enjoy a port wine drink or order a tapas platter.
