Cask No. 139 is the result of a fantastic wine year. A wet winter and an extremely hot summer in 2003 gave the grapes optimal conditions on an A classified slope all the way down to the Douro River.
After 11 years in large 14,000 liter Balseiro (oak tank), where it matures slowly, the wines came in 550 liter barrels. Barrel no. 139 is an over 50 year old oak barrel, which gives the port very little wood flavor, it helps to give the wine a dark, concentrated and elegant aroma. Barrel no. 139 is unfiltered and can be bottle aged for up to 10 years.
About the Port Wine Cellar
The Port Wine Cellar is a combined port wine bar where you can buy and enjoy a glass of port wine. We are also a retail store and webshop selling port wine.
The Port Wine Cellar has fixed opening hours on Fridays and Saturdays from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM. The cellar has room for 26 seated guests (+ 4 outdoor seating). Here, in addition to enjoying a glass of port wine, you can also enjoy a port wine drink or order a tapas platter.
